Relationship between Public Debt and Exports in Nigeria: A Granger Causality and Threshold Analysis Approach

This paper examines the relationship between public debt and exports of Nigeria, ranging from period 1981 to 2017. It analyses trend its measure sustainability how it relates export earnings Nigeria. Granger causality was used test effect debts on Nigeria's (oil non-oil exports). Also, threshold regression analysis investigate results show that goods services Nigeria granger causes external while does not cause services. Domestic has a statistically significant influence but exists for this avoid crowding-out higher interest rate, which will negatively. Hence, as nation maintain domestic in relation exports, there is an existence maximum limit ₦6,538 billion, should be below ₦3,178 billion.
